With the arches now taking shape in Part 3, we turned our attention to one of the less visible—but absolutely critical—components: the buck strengthener. The original piece had deteriorated over time, so instead of attempting repairs, we fabricated a brand-new strengthener from scratch.
This stage is all about structure and longevity.
A properly made strengthener ensures the buck remains solid and capable of handling real-world use without flex or fatigue. Using precise measurements and quality steel, we formed a new piece that fits perfectly and restores the buck’s original strength.

Once welded in, everything stiffened up exactly as it should. It’s work like this—often hidden once the build is complete—that separates a good restoration from a great one.

Toyota Hi Lux – Part 2

After tackling the tailgate in Part 1, we moved on to one of the biggest challenges: the buck itself. The side panel was in terrible shape, so we made the decision to cut out the damaged section entirely.

Luckily, we managed to source a replacement piece that matched perfectly—a rare find for a project like this! With careful alignment and precision welding, we integrated the new section seamlessly into the existing structure. This step was crucial to restoring the strength and integrity of the buck.

Next up, we’ll be focusing on getting everything around it to fit nicely in particular the fuel filler housing. Every detail matters when bringing a classic back to life!

First, we need to assess and fabricate a brand-new top rail for the tailgate—a task that demands hours of focus and precision.

🔧Austin Healey Restoration🔧
A lot of behind the scenes work has gone into this beauty and here’s a breakdown of the work:
🛠️ Strip-down & Inspection:
We stripped back as needed to assess damage and corrosion—checked full vehicle operation beforehand.
🧱 Rust Repair & Fabrication:
Discovered hidden corrosion in the inner sill, especially near the A pillar—worse than expected. Previous patchwork had just covered rust without removal, causing further spread. We’ve cut back to solid metal and begun fabricating proper repair sections.
🧰 Sill & Quarter Panel Work:
Outer sill removed, new one prepped.
The right side quarter panel came up short which called for a new custom fabricated lower section, extending it for a perfect fit.
The right side sill, bonnet pillar and A pillar were welded back together solidly.
Countersunk fixings installed, door and catch test-fitted to ensure smooth alignment.
📐 Precision Matters:
We noticed a slight sag in the sill that caused the door gaps to become misaligned. We’ve now fixed this by carefully repairing the sill and adjusting the panels
Next up: final welding, electrical fixes and prep for paint. 👌

We began by carefully measuring and cutting the apertures for the rear lamps into the newly fitted rear wings. This isn’t just about making holes—it’s about ensuring symmetry, correct positioning and a factory-accurate look. The goal: a clean, original finish that respects the car’s design lineage.
🧰 Rear Panel Refinement
Next, we removed the aftermarket pods from the rear panels. These additions, while functional in the past, detracted from the MGA’s original lines. With them gone, we’re restoring the rear end to its authentic, elegant form—ready for a smooth, uninterrupted paint finish.
🔧 Bonnet Repairs
The bonnet needed some TLC. We addressed both surface imperfections and underlying structural issues, ensuring it fits perfectly and looks the part. It’s now prepped and aligned, ready to shine once again.
🎨 Original Colour Matching
One of the most rewarding parts of this stage: matching the paint to the car’s original factory colour. Using reference samples and careful blending, we recreated the exact tone—bringing back the character and charm it had when it first left the factory.

This timeless Jaguar E-Type rolled into our workshop needing some serious TLC — and we delivered with a full, detailed paintwork restoration across multiple panels. Here`s how we brought this classic back to life:
🔹 Preparation & Assessment
We began with a full inspection to identify all imperfections. The affected areas included both doors, both rear quarters, roof, bootlid, sills and the scuttle panel.
🔹 Sanding & Surface Correction
Each panel was carefully sanded down to remove old paint, surface scratches, and any filler inconsistencies. We used a combination of sanding and hand-blocking to ensure a smooth, even surface across all contours.
🔹 Panel Refinement
Minor dents and imperfections were corrected using precision filler work, followed by further sanding to blend seamlessly with the original body lines — especially important on a car with curves as iconic as the E-Type.
🔹 Primer & Sealing
Once the surfaces were perfected, we applied high-build primer to all repaired areas. After curing, we wet-sanded the primer to a glass-smooth finish, ensuring the base was flawless before paint.
🔹 Paint Matching & Application
Using advanced colour-matching technology, we recreated the original shade with exacting accuracy. The paint was applied in multiple coats, followed by a clear coat for depth and protection.
🔹 Final Finish
