In recent years we have noticed our customers who operate fleet, light commercial, local authority and lease vehicles have witnessed their insurance premiums rocket.
In once incident a hire car was involved in an accident ...and needed a new bumper fitted... which cost Motts under £100 to repair.
At the end of the year, the insurance company went to the hire company with a list of all the accidents that had taken place during the year, and added up the cost of the claims that were their fault. The amount this came to was the amount by which the insurance premium would increase the following year.
In this particular incident, the insurance company claimed the accident had cost it in excess of £8000, taking into account £3000 for hire of a car, £2000 for the repair job and £3000 for whiplash claim. Had Motts handled the claim, the final figure would have been much lower. In light of this we are working to establish an accident service to assist our customers who find themselves in a similar predicament.
By teaming together with calls centres, garages, hire companies and solicitors, we aim to offer the owners of fleet, light commercial, local authority and lease vehicles a free phone service whereby repairs to their vehicles and related paperwork can be carried out swiftly and effectively for a low cost monthly fee.
